Benefits of becoming a Supporter Member
A member is a person who pays an annual subscription to belong to the Maketu Coastguard unit. This membership allows you to make use of all the additional non-emergency services that Maketu Coastguard provides. This will give you the assurance and peace of mind that if you get into difficulty out on the water the Maketu Coastguard will be there to help out.
A membership is not restricted to those people who own vessels. Other people who enjoy water activities should also consider the benefits available to them if they are a member of Maketu Coastguard. Kayakers, fishermen, swimmers and divers in particular would also be assisted by the Maketu Coastguard should they get into difficultly.
As a supporter member you will receive free assistance for our dedicated rescue vessel should you break down or an emergency may arise while at sea.
Non members who require our assistance are charged an hourly rate. This hourly rate is $270.00
Annual Membership is $75.00, which covers period 1st September to 31st August.
